Upon arrival into Kigali, you will be met and transferred to Virunga Conservation area. If time permits, visit the markets, villages and local communities or add in an optional visit to the beautiful twin lakes Bulera and Ruhondo before arriving at your lodge. In the morning catch you morning transfer to the Volcanoes National Park offices. After your orientation, start the trek through fields of cultivated land to the edge of the forest. Here you enter the park for a gorilla trek which will take you until around midday depending on where you find them. Once the gorillas are located all fatigue is forgotten, as the experience is often described as being the most profound natural history experience in the world.

Journey Overview
Day 1: Kigali
On arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel. Following a detailed briefing and an introduction to your English speaking driver guide, the afternoon will be spent on a city tour of Kigali including a visit to the Genocide Memorial. Overnight in Kigali on bed and breakfast basis.
Day 2: Kigali To Virunga Conversation Area
After breakfast, transfer to the Volcanoes National Park offices. After a briefing by the park’s guides, bring you trek for the mountain gorillas. After the trek, proceed for to your lodge for lunch. If time permits, visit the markets, villages and local communities or an optional visit to the little known by compellingly beautiful twin lakes Bulera and Ruhondo. Dinner and overnight in Virunga.
Day 3: Virunga Conversation Area
Day at leisure. Option to book a second Gorilla Trek (additional cost). All meals included in your stay. Overnight in Virunga.
Day 4: Virunga Conversation Area To Lake Kivu
After breakfast, drive to your resort on Lake Kivu (1.5 hours). Spend the afternoon at the lake. Lake Kivu is a 2,650 sq. km. extraordinarily beautiful inland sea enclosed by steep, green terraced hills along eastern Rwanda. Three resort towns of Gisenyi, Kibuye and Cyangugu are located along its shores. Dinner and overnight at the resort.
Day 5: Departure Day
After an early breakfast, morning airport transfer to Kigali International Airport. Proceed to your onward international flight.
